    OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS • A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. • Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable.

    WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING LIGHTS - Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light • If the "ESC Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light" comes on continuously with the engine running, a malfunction has been detected in the ESC system. If this light remains on after several ignition cycles, and the vehicle has been driven several miles (kilometers) at speeds greater than 30 mph (48 km/h), we recom- mend you do not operate the vehicle.
  • Page 71 WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES • Your vehicle has also been equipped with a TPMS malfunction indicator to indicate when the system is not operating properly. The TPMS malfunction indicator is combined with the low tire pressure telltale. When the system detects a malfunction, the telltale will flash for approximately one minute and then remain continuously illuminated.

    WHAT TO DO IN EMERGENCIES AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING • During sustained high speed driving or trailer towing up long grades on hot days, the automatic transmission oil may become too hot. • When the transmission overheat warning light turns on, you will experience reduced performance until the automatic transmission cools down.
